Staff: Michael "Kole" Guentert

Michael “Kole” Guentert serves as the Program Director for Friends of the Children – Eastern Oregon, bringing over a decade of hands-on experience serving youth. Originally from East Texas and raised in Eastern Oregon, Kole has spent more than 11 years empowering young people in the greater Phoenix and Atlanta areas, helping them navigate challenges and envision brighter futures.

Before returning to Oregon, Kole spent eight years coaching high school football, gaining valuable experience in building strong, professional relationships with youth and their families. He understands the lasting impact a consistent mentor can have in guiding young people toward success. Kole holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and is passionate about creating sustainable change in the lives of those often overlooked.

Outside of work, Kole is a proud husband and father of two, a master of Southern-style fried chicken, and an all-things-football enthusiast. He now lives in La Grande and looks forward to giving back to the community that shaped him.
