BECOME A GEM 2

Volunteer

We welcome community support. While our Friends are full-time, paid mentors, there are many ways community members can support our chapter. Let us know your interests, and we’ll be in touch as volunteer opportunities arise!

Friends of the Children – Eastern Oregon is rooted in Union County. Even though our core mentoring roles are professional, paid positions, volunteers strengthen our work, especially as we grow our clubhouse, host community events, and build support for families.

Right now, we’re building our volunteer program. If you’re interested in helping, please let us know and we’ll keep your information on file and contact you with appropriate opportunities as they become available.

Possible volunteer roles in the future

Important note: Our mentoring roles are full-time, trained, paid positions. Volunteers do not act as primary mentors. Any volunteer working with children will follow safety and background procedures (we will provide details when opportunities are available).

What happens next

We’ll review your note and reach out with the next steps. When volunteers are asked to work directly with children, we will share role details, training requirements, and any background checks that may be needed.

Why volunteers matter

Volunteers help us do more, faster. They make events welcoming, keep our spaces organized, and sometimes bring skills that add new opportunities for youth. If you want to support our chapter in a hands-on way, we’d love to hear from you.
