Friends of the Children - Eastern Oregon 2025 Chapter Snapshot
As we enter 2026, we are pleased to share a snapshot of the exciting growth of Friends of the Children–Eastern Oregon. We are so grateful for your early belief in us and look forward to our continued partnership. With your support, we can break generational cycles of poverty and trauma and truly make a difference in the lives of youth who are facing great obstacles.
ENROLLMENT
We currently serve a full cohort of 16 children (8 boys and 8 girls) across Union County. These youth attend school in Imbler, Union and La Grande. The enrollment process for our 2nd cohort of 16 children is currently underway.
CLUBHOUSE
Thanks to the generous support of the First Presbyterian Church, our office space and clubhouse are located on the 2nd floor of the church. Our clubhouse space is inviting and includes books, games, craft supplies, Legos, snacks, and a cozy reading nook. We love giving tours and welcome all of you for a visit.
STAFF
A 3rd mentor has been hired to work with our new cohort of youth. 4th mentor position is still open – send candidates our way!!
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
We have been impressed by the attendance and excitement at our family engagement events. From a BBQ at Riverside Park to a FRIENDSgiving dinner at the Presbyterian Friendship Center to a Christmas literacy event at Cook Memorial Library, families have shown up and enjoyed the time with their children.
