Meet Neesha Turner

Executive Director, Friends - Eastern Oregon

Neesha Turner is an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and a descendant of the Umpqua and Rogue River bands of people. A northeastern Oregon local, she maintains a strong connection to her tribal community in Grand Ronde, Oregon. She resides in La Grande with her husband and daughters and values spending time with her family and friends.

Neesha holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and a Master of Counseling degree in School Counseling, both from Oregon State University. She is a licensed school counselor with over 20 years of experience across diverse settings working with children, families, and communities. Her career in the helping professions spans both school counseling and casework roles, giving her a deep understanding of the challenges children and families face.

Neesha is excited and eager to launch the Eastern Oregon chapter of Friends of the Children. She believes the organization will fill a gap in the services and programs available to youth in her community. Neesha believes strongly in the power of mentorship to bring forth positive change and make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families.
